Frequently asked questions.
-
My current rates are $125 for a 50 minute individual session and $160 for an 80 minute couple and family session.

I'm currently not in-network with insurance or EAP programs but can offer services as an out-of-network provider. You would be responsible for payment at each session, and I can provide a super-bill for potential reimbursement from your insurance. You can use the Nirvana Reimbursement Calculator to estimate your reimbursement. Most insurances cover anywhere from 50-90% of out-of-network expenses, though I cannot guarantee that your insurance company will offer reimbursements. Some helpful questions to ask insurance companies include:
Do I have mental health benefits?
Do I have out-of-network insurance benefits?
How many sessions will my insurance cover per year?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Is approval required to use these benefits?

Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to be applied to your record. This also means that in relational therapy, the person using the insurance must have a diagnosis. Additionally, when you pay out of pocket you have increased privacy related to your therapy experiences as no records, diagnostic information, or authorization for services need to pass through your insurance company. You also have more autonomy to choose a provider that feels like the best fit for you versus making a choice based on clinicians provided to you by your insurance company.
Additionally, many insurance companies will not cover services that are not pertaining to a specific mental health diagnosis. Relationship stress or difficulties are not considered a mental health diagnosis so many insurances will not cover therapy for relational or personal growth.

I offer in-person and virtual therapy sessions. I currently see clients in-person on Thursday afternoons and evenings. Virtual sessions use HIPAA-compliant Google Meets video platform, with specific instructions sent via email.

Therapy looks different for everyone. The pace and duration depend on your goals, your readiness for change, and the complexity of what you’re working through.
That said, consistency is key—our brains thrive on predictability, and regular sessions build the momentum needed for lasting change. I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions so we can build rapport, gather context, and create a plan tailored to your needs.
After the initial phase, we’ll reassess and decide together what frequency makes the most sense—whether that’s continuing weekly, moving to bi-weekly, or spacing sessions out for ongoing support.
