Therapy that helps you heal, grow, and reconnect.
KC Cohen, MA, MFTC
I’m KC Cohen, a couples and family therapist who believes that relationships are at the heart of our well-being. When our relationships feel strained—whether with a partner, a parent, a child, or even ourselves—it can impact every part of our lives.
I’m a systems therapist, which means I have specialized training in working with couples and families. Even when I work with individuals, I look at challenges through a relational lens. I believe our struggles aren’t rooted in personal flaws—they’re shaped by the relationships and environments we grew up in, and the patterns we’ve carried forward.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based, relational therapy models like Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Relational Life Therapy, and Systems and Structural Therapy. I integrate these frameworks with tools and training drawn from Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and AEDP—tailoring my work to meet each client’s unique needs.
Why I Do This Work
Before becoming a therapist, I spent a decade working in the television industry as a studio executive. I built stories and sold stories—and along the way, I realized the most meaningful stories were the ones people were living in real life. That realization led me here: to helping people make sense of their own story, untangle the patterns that no longer serve them, and build relationships that feel more authentic and secure.
I believe in the work I do because I’ve experienced its impact firsthand. My own journey through therapy, and my lived experience as a partner and a mother, continue to shape how I show up in the room. I know how hard—and how transformative—this work can be.
Outside of the therapy office, you’ll find me doing what I love most: spending time with my family, playing tennis, making pottery, or exploring the mountains.
As your therapist, you can expect me to:
Collaborate with you
Identify and acknowledge your many strengths
Lovingly challenge your limiting beliefs
Laugh with you
Care for you
Cut through the content (he said, she said) and get to the emotions and core beliefs
Slow you down
Check in with what you’re feeling in your body
Help you practice being kinder to yourself
Hold you accountable
